Vegan Chocolate Banana Pancakes

These are super yummy, super easy and a great start to the day. There's some fruit dotted around so they're basically healthy, and if you're a regular on the gram, they are super photogenic so you can get some great pics of your stack.

The ingredients are mostly cupboard ingredients, particularly if you're a regular baker. For the fruit and chocolate, just use whatever you have and mix it up to keep things fresh!


125g plain flour (switch for coconut flour or similar to make them gluten-free)

4 tbsp cocoa powder

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

2 tsp coconut oil (plus extra for frying)

2 tsp sugar

1 banana (mashed or blended)

3/4 cup dairy-free milk

Extra Toppings:

Chopped fruit (whatever you have available but I love berries)

Melted vegan chocolate or vegan chocolate sauce

Maple syrup or vegan honea


1.Sieve the flour (125g), cocoa powder (4 tbsp), baking powder (1 1/2 tsp) and sugar (2 tsp) together in a mixing bowl.

2. Add in the mashed banana, dairy-free milk (3/4 cup) and coconut oil (2 tsp) and mix together until it forms a thick batter.

3. Heat a teeny amount of coconut oil in a small , non-stick frying pan and add in around 2 tbsp of the batter. Flip once bubbles appear.

4. Stack your pancakes up high. Add your fruit, chocolate sauce and syrup.

5. Dig in!
